The adventure begins in Dehradun at Prince Chowk near Railway station. The road trip is stunning from the start.
It begins with a journey through Mussoorie's magnificent highlands and the majestic Kempty Falls, which are nestled among steep mountain cliffs.
The roads are long and meandering, allowing you to take in all of the magnificent scenery. Swift mountain streams flow parallel to the road.
After reaching Mussoorie, the route goes beside a glittering Yamuna River for a bit. Eventually, the environment turns from deep gorges to an amazing canopy of blue pine forests lining either side of the road.
The final 22 kilometers to Sankri, however, steal the show as we go through the Govind National Park, encountering a variety of unusual vegetation and fauna.
The roads can be difficult and rocky in certain places, but the stunning vistas of the deep coniferous forests, tons of river valley, and scattered apple orchids more than compensate.
Sankri is a lush green village boasting some outstanding views of Mt. Swargarohini, especially during sunset time.
We will be staying in a guest house for the night and will begin our new journey to Juda-ka-Talab- the next morning.

The trek to the Kedarkantha summit begins in Sankri, our base village, and continues today to Juda Ka Talab, a magnificent alpine lake. Start your day early, have your breakfast and walk out directly towards Juda Ka Talab.
The lake is located at an elevation of 9100 feet, and the journey distance is approximately 4 kilometers. It will take about 4-5 hours to reach the lake.
As you begin your adventure out of Sankri village, you will venture into the village expansion Saur and from here you will walk along a river, and then we will take a turn into the forest of pine and maple, climbing strongly. We will cross many suspension bridges and small mountain villages.
Today's trial is comparatively broad and progressive. During the summer, the route is lush and green, and you'll see plenty of flowers along the way. The trail is covered in maple and pine leaves and leads to lush green meadows.
Kedar Kantha Trek Best Time to Visit is during the winter, the trail is snow-covered, and depending on the conditions, boots may be required to effectively travel the path.
As you hike uphill, you may see animals such as Himalayan Languors, Himalayan Woodpecker, Himalayan Monal, Rosefink, and Musk Deer. While they are extremely shy, they move fast, swinging from branch to branch, making it difficult to capture a proper view of them. Apart from this, you may see boars, hares, and martens.
We'll camp here for the night. You can take lovely shots here and go for nature walks in the surrounding region.
At night, a bonfire is an excellent place to enjoy your dinner and warm drinks while chatting with your fellow trekkers. The night sky is incredibly stunning, with an array of the brightest stars illuminating the sky. Sleep the night in your tents.

We'll start the day with a warm breakfast and a beautiful sunrise view before beginning our climb to Base Camp. The base camp is 11,000 feet above sea level and 4 kilometers from Juda Ka Talab.
Walking moderately, you can get to the base camp in about three hours. The trail is slightly steeper than the previous day, and it steadily increases steeper as you approach the summit.
A short walk through brown oak forests covered with snow leads to a breathtaking snowfield surrounded by tall trees on one side and a great panorama of snow peaks on the other.

On clear days, the Milky Way shines over the night sky, surrounded by a layer of white snow. Some areas of the Base Camp and peak are still covered in snow in early spring. By April, however, the snow has melted, revealing the vibrant colors of spring.
It's time to give your body some rest as we will be starting the next day's trek at around 2 am.

Day 4 is the one you've been waiting for! The hike from the base camp to the summit is short, and once there, you'll see a breathtaking 360-degree view of the Uttarakhand peaks, the Chaainsheel Pass, and Himachal's Kailash range.
You may even see the Har Ki Dun valley below. The Kedarkantha top is marked by a group of stones with a Trishul pointing to the sky.
According to legend, the peak was intended to be the first Kedarnath temple, but Lord Shiva, disguised as a cow to avoid the Pandavas, was interrupted during meditation by the people. The interruption caused him to shift his position to the current Kedarnath shrine.
After spending some time we will come down to the base camp and spend our night there. The next day we will trek down to Sankri.

Today is our final day of trekking, and we will go down from Kedarkantha to Sankri, a 6-kilometer journey that will take us around 5-6 hours.
Once we get to Sankri, you can spend the rest of the day exploring the picturesque village and neighboring villages such as Gangad and Osla, which are noted for their friendly hospitality and traditional Pahari culture.
Sankri is also the final road heading into the Govind Balabh Pant Wildlife Sanctuary. Although there aren't many shops in Sankri, you may still purchase wooden handicrafts, toys, and home décor as memories of your trip.

Today is the last day of the Kedarkantha trek, our fantastic journey, and we will return to Dehradun with many wonderful memories.
Vehicles will be hired for you at Sankri to transport you back to Dehradun. Check out of the hotel in the morning so that we may start our travel to Dehradun early.
We have a distance of 200 kilometers to cover, which will take around 10 hours, so the earlier we start the better. We will return along NH 123, admiring the picturesque splendor.
Enjoy the nature around you, with breathtaking vistas stretching far and wide. We will arrive in Dehradun in the evening. Make necessary arrangements if you have to travel to other cities.
Kedarkantha Trek is known for its snow-covered mountains during the winter. If you want to see snow then December to February is best for you if not then you can visit anywhere between March to November.

No, once you reach Sankri there won’t be any network. So, if you need to inform your family and friends it’s better to let them know before starting the trek. The only available network signal is BSNL.
